The Italian node is led by the Italian Research Council, Institute of Information Science and Technologies (CNR-ISTI). The node intends to create a community of Italian RDA members composed by institutions, individuals, infrastructures and other initiatives. In May 2018, the Italian Open Science Support Group (IOSSG), a volunteer working group, joined the node. The Italian node chose Research Data Management (RDM) as its main topic; the node has already started working for catalysing Italian efforts in the field of data towards common objectives by collaborating with various initiatives at the national level (OpenAIRE, EOSC HUB, etc). The node is currently working to organise a series of webinar focused on RDM for the Italian research community starting in Autumn 2018.

The Italian node is also responsible for the Special Collection in the CODATA Data Science Journal about RDA WG and IG results. Read more about the current call for papers at https://datascience.codata.org/announcement/
