The Greek RDA National Node, coordinated by the ATHENA Research & Innovation Center,  has as its primary goal to foster the development of a collaborative environment so as to explore the possibility and extent of use of horizontal e-Infrastructures by domain-specific Research Infrastructures. First communication with key Research and e-infrastructures of the Greek research ecosystem as well as with the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs took place on 10 July 2018 at the 6th Hellenic Forum for Science Technology and Innovation Workshop on The role of Research and e-infrastructures in the National Research Agenda. Participation at this event proved to be very engaging and conversations that were initiated concentrated on the collaboration among all related stakeholders, e-Infrastructures and Research Infrastructures, towards the creation of a national node. Although discussions provided a better understanding for the current state-of-the-art in data sharing in Greece, common ground is still to be sought and specific actions will be defined at the first official RDA workshop which will be under the auspices of the National OpenAIRE event in October, 24-25 (TBC).
